Hi this is Austin and Ivy, your school captains for 2026. 

This term has been jam packed, let's recap our main events.

Mr J’s baby girl was born on the 31st of August. Her name is Isla Jane Louise Johnson. We wish Mr J all the best and hope he gets a bit of sleep at night.

We have had a lot of fundraisers this year. Some of them include a Wear It Yellow Day. Where we wore a touch of yellow to support aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children. We also raised money for guide dogs by having a pyjama day. Lastly we had a silly socks day to fundraise money for our school sport equipment. 

-Our 3/4  students went to camp Manyung this term. They had a great time and kept our teachers up all night. 

-Our 2 to 6 students had swimming at the swimming pool waves. Our year 5 students visited Patterson River for a day and tried out what high schools like. Our prep students went to visit our local kindergartens, Inter schools sport has finished for this year for our 5/6 students.

-We also had bullying no way week where we wore a touch of purple to super kids that are being bullied.

-Also the NED performance came to our school where we learnt how to be resilient and about yo-yos.

-2 weeks ago we had our book week parade where we had fun dressing up as our favourite book characters.

-For fathers day  we had a fathers day barbecue where our fathers could enjoy an egg and bacon roll with their kids..

-Last week we had our school performance where every class presented their dance that they have been working really hard on. It was so fun and everyone did so well

We also had our working bee this term so thank you to all the parents that could get down to help us keep our garden clean. Sandra loves when she can get an extra set of hands. Our school also participated in the prime minister's spelling bee. So well done to all the students that had a go. 

Earlier this term Mr Langford left our school to go and work at Overport primary school, we are lucky enough to have other leaders take care of our school, Thanks Mrs Kennedy, Mrs Riley and Mrs Mc Gregor

This term the preps completed 100 days of school which is a great achievement for them. And thank you to the parents for getting them all to school on time.

On Monday was day 2 of the big green schools conference where some of our students went to another school to present their big idea which was getting a soft plastic bin in our school.

Tomorrow is our last day of school for this term. Our footy day is also tomorrow. We can’t wait to see what team you go for and have a great day with a footy themed lunch.

Just a reminder next term all kids need to come to school with hats as we are approaching the sunny seasons.

Now of course before we go we have to finish with a joke…

1. Why don't fish go on vacation? 

•   Because they're always in school!

What a fantastic term we have had in our Kitchen Garden program!

This term, our students have been busy investigating soil and learning why healthy soil is so important for our gardens. We explored:

Soil texture and soil profiles
Testing soil pH
Learning that soil is alive
Creating our own soil-in-a-bottle investigations
Using magnifying glasses to look closely at soil
Planting sunflowers
Planting vegetables and other plants
Adding nutrients to our garden beds to improve our soil
Creating our new Indigenous Garden at the front of the school

A friendly reminder to everyone in our school community: please help us keep our school grounds clean during school holidays. There should be no food or rubbish left around the school. If you see any rubbish, please pick it up and place it in our red bin near the Rum-B-Run entrance. Every little action helps us care for our school environment.

A big thank you to all our students and parents/carers for another wonderful term. Your support, enthusiasm and hard work make our Kitchen Garden program so special.

Students of all ages are tutored in private one-to-one lessons. Children are taught in a positive and nurturing environment. Group Play Therapy Holiday Intensive

Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October 2026
1 hour per day for 5 days

Our Group Play Therapy Holiday Intensive is returning, offering children a fun and supportive space to build confidence, social skills and emotional wellbeing through play.

Two locations:
• Balwyn North Clinic
• St Mark's Primary School, Dingley Village

$850 per child | Groups of up to 6 children and 3 therapists (2:1 ratio)

 Minecraft Therapy Groups

For young people aged 9–17

Following the successful launch of our Minecraft Groups last holidays, we're continuing to offer both Term Groups and Intensive Holiday Groups.

These small, therapist-led groups use Minecraft to support communication, teamwork, emotional regulation, confidence and connection.

Expressions of interest are open, and we'd love for you to share the flyer with anyone who may benefit.
