Welcome to week 6 from your school captains

Hello Carrum Community,

This is Austin and Ivy, your school captains for 2026.

Wow what a busy week this week has been, so much is happening at Carrum Primary. On Monday this week we had our 3 to 6 Think You Know cybersafety incursion, where we learnt how to be safe online in our social accounts. Also, on Monday we had a special morning tea celebrating all the amazing ES staff at Carrum Primary. We appreciate all the ES staff do for our school. You guys are the bESt!! Yesterday we had 11 kids from 3 to 6 go to Division crosscountry, they all did so well in tough wet conditions.

From the 27th to the 3rd of June it is Reconciliation week and our students will be learning about what this means and learning about culture and history.

Today the 1\2s dressed up in olden days costumes and had a fun high tea party, eating scones with jam and cream and learning about old fashioned things.

Tomorrow we have interschool sports for the year 5 and 6s, we are playing at home and are playing Seaford.

Coming up on our calendar

On June the 2nd, send your child to school wearing yellow and please bring a gold coin donation. We are fundraising for Children’ Ground for aboriginal students to gain access to education. On Tuesday we have the first Step into Prep, where local kinder kids come to get ready for prep.

Also on the calendar on the 4th of June we have 1/2s robotics incursion and the year 5s are going to Patterson Lakes Secondary College.

Now before we go here is a fun joke to end the day…

Q: Why did the student eat his homework?

A: Because the teacher said it was a piece of cake!

Thanks for reading. We hope you have a great Friday!

See you on Monday for week 7.

Fundraising

A HUGE thanks to our families in your recent support in our school fundraising.

Last Saturday we had a fundraising BBQ at Family Fresh Butcher, we sold sausages, hamburgers and egg and bacon rolls. Special thanks to the families and staff that helped on the day volunteering their time, also to their kids-who really helped boost sales.

We managed to raise over $1,000 which will go towards improving our animals and wetlands.

The butcher works with local community and clubs they donate the bread, bacon and eggs to stallholders and very kindly discounted our meat. Please give them a visit as their produce and variety is outstanding! They also have a family meals catering company (the meals are great)
