Welcome to week 10 from Cienna and Mason

Welcome to our week 10 Newsletter

Hi Carrum families,

We can't believe there is only one week left! How exciting, but also sad.
In our last few exciting weeks we have many things still to enjoy.

Last Thursday we had an open afternoon to showcase our learning, thanks to our families and other classes for visiting.

Last week our marine ambassadors were lucky enough to swim with some dolphins and see some seals and had a great day out.

We know the 1\2s enjoyed their mini beast incursion learning all about creatures and more.
Our school also had an environment day that Ruby in year 6 organised for the whole school with different activities and prizes. Thanks to the leaders that worked hard wih her on this day

For an end of year celebration the year 5\6s  and their teachers went to the gravity zone which was so much fun!

On Thursday we had an amazing Christmas concert and a big thank you to Miss Chivotti for all her hard work arranging that for us! The Christmas songs were spectactular!

Next Wednesday the year 6s also have their bike ride to Bicentennial park.

On Monday the 15th of December its' the grade 6 graduation which will be a sad but an exciting night for our year six parents and families.

It's so exciting that there is only one week left of school!! Soon the year sixes will be off to their high schools! How crazy is that? We know you will miss us!

This is also our last newsletter piece for the year, we hope you have enjoyed reading our front pages.

What type of photos do elf's take?

Environment Day

Hi i’m Ruby and i’m the environment leader for 2025

Last week on Wednesday we had our environment day and it was great to see everyone in their touch of green.

I’m grateful to our environment team and the teachers for helping me with the rotations with the 1/2s and preps. I know our wonderful goats and chickens got spoiled.

A big thank you to Leanne for coming in, a Vet who has her own clinic and hopefully bringing new information for 3/4s and 5/6s about our animals.
I  hoped everyone loved Charlie and Dudley (Leanne's dogs) coming in and giving them pats. We raised a total of  $289 and thanks to Jane, my amazing teachers fir believing in me and Mrs.Riley for organising and putting this whole event together.

I managed to get prizes donated from Bunnings to hand out on the day too

From your environment captain Ruby.

Marine Ambassadors day out

Marine Ambassadors day out

On Tuesday the 2nd of December the Marine Ambassadors went on their last workshop which was swimming with dolphins and seals.

All the marine ambassadors went on a boat named the moonranker, we were so excited about the adventure that was ahead. When we went to the front of the boat we spotted a dolphin swimming under and next to the boat. A little bit later another dolphin came to meet with it's friend and we rode along with the dolphins for a bit, before diving into the water ourselves. Although we got to be with the dolphins before, we couldn’t swim with them. There were 3 pods of dolphins and there were about 5 in each pod. A pod is a group of dolphins.

After having our hot chocolates everyone jumped in the freezing cold water next to a rock formation that was packed with seals and gannets (a type of bird that hangs with the seals). We couldn't touch the rocks or seals but we got very close and when you looked underneath the water there was thriving seaweed and swarms of all different kinds of fish. They liked Miss Shew very much!

Thank you so much Mr Langford for driving us and thank you to the i sea i care team for hosting us and Miss Shew for being our supervisor.
