EXPO DAY
This week on Wednesday we celebrated our specialist subjects by hosting Expo Day. Our students were mixed in multi age groups for the day and spent time in other classes.
In Art we launched our school concert theme- the elements, fire, water, earth and air. Children were invited to draw using pastels and a range of materials to decorate a square to represent the element. These squares will be used for a whole school art mural displayed in our Multi-Purpose Room. Please make sure you take a look.
For Steam the students had a group challenge to create the tallest towers with the ultimate winners. They brainstormed, planned, tested and improved. It was great ro see resilience and collaboration amongst the groups.
In Mandarin the students were invited to join in with 3 different activities, the activity that groups were assigned to was calligraphy with ink and water, mask making and traditional paper cutting to create window flowers which looked incredible.
The afternoon got us outside, we were fortunate enough with the weather the rain just stopped just in time. The students enjoyed tabloid sports which included 8 rotations. Playing old school games like egg and spoon, hoops, frisbee, rock paper scissor race offs and more. It was great to see teamwork across the ages and lots of laughing and smiles.
We thank the specialist teachers for your detailed planning and our class teachers for engaging with all of the students, whilst having fun!
We conclude our week with a dance at assembly on Friday.
